<h4 style="margin-right:239.85pt""><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-weight: normal;""><font size="3"">Party in the Pandemic</font"></span"></h4"><h4 style="margin-right:239.85pt""><span style="font-weight: normal;""><font size="3""><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"">Within this project, I wanted to explore the<br>
parallels between the 1920’s Spanish flu pandemic, and the Covid19 pandemic of<br>
2020. I wanted to center the visual elements of my work around sequins, disco<br>
balls and all things metallic as a metaphor for finding light among dark times,<br>
just as they did 100 years ago in the 1920’s in the face of adversity when the<br>
flapper girl was born surrounded by decadence and extravagance. I wanted to<br>
explore the fact that the 1920’s are remembered for parties and beauty, rather<br>
than the deadly pandemic which took over 6 million lives, and transfer the<br>
sense of glamour and celebration of 100 years ago into the current events<br>
happening in today's society - finding light (and glitter)</span"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;""> </span"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"">in dark times.</span"></font"></span"></h4">
